Marita Odette Bonner (Occomy) was young adult African American writer, essayist, most important playwright associated with the Harlem Renaissance Era. Born on June 16, 1899 to Joseph Saint and Anne Noel Bonner bear Boston, Massachusetts. Bonner attended Brookline High School where she eminent began to write when she became involved in a journal organized by the student object called The Sagamor. In 1918 Bonner graduated from Brookline Lofty School and enrolled in Radcliffe College in Cambridge.
