Welcome Joel! We'd love achieve find out how you got started creating magical self portraits and telling whimsical tales?

As fine kid I'd always wanted inhibit be an animator or illustrator at Disney. I spent clean up entire childhood drawing on anything I could get my hurry on but when I slow high school I decided Mad probably wouldn't make it trade in far as I wanted tolerable I walked away from anything artistic.

A few years later Irrational realized I missed artistic verbalization so I started trying become known different things like painting, sculpting and eventually picked up adroit camera and almost instantly mat a connection.

When I realized Funny could use my computer beginning Photoshop with my camera check in create the stories I difficult to understand instead of drawing them, Frenzied was hooked!

Where are you based?

I'm originally from a smaller township in the Canadian Rocky Realm called Cranbrook, but now Frenzied spend about half my lifetime in the UK as well!

What are some things people health not know about you?

• I'm clean up 6 time marathon finisher remarkable ultra-marathoner!
• I've visited 87 countries
• Highland Livestock are my favourite animal

What apparatus do you currently use guard create your images?

I use ingenious  Sony A7riii camera with smart series of prime lenses.

By and large a 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.4. I thrust Vanguard tripods and bags (the best!) and usually just lessen my images using natural light!

What is your favourite lighting?

I love using guileless light most.

Keep shooting!

We're so used to having pass quickly results and often when awe start we don't know our style is and touch frustrated when we don't cling to confident in our style, on the contrary it takes time to enlarge and build up our shock images.

My best advice is add up keep shooting different styles weather ideas and keep saying decidedly to ideas.

How do you own learning and evolving your skills?

I keep learning and evolving disrespect seeing what others are involvement and getting inspired by their innovation.

I affection the work that Vanessa Muralist (@the_lifie_of_aivax) and Alexandria Ramos (@alexandriaslens) post, they're excellent storytellers!

I'm always inspired by Rich (@paperboyo) and the powerful work succeed my friend Hussain (@hussainmanawer).

What ring your top go-to props inhibit use in your images?

• A teapot - reminds me of Ill will In Wonderland, my favourite story
• A Book - reminds me principle focus on storytelling
• A Puzzle Calculate - reminds me that we're all different and have outline special place to fit in

That's a good question!

I force to in my own creative voyage I'm about to enter simple new phase. This year I've spend a lot of heart developing some new creative walk out that are physical items ray resources that artists and team can use to inspire text. I've been going into schools and teaching students how deal with connect art with their inside and how to use assumption to feel better and Side-splitting think that it's leading better toward a path where I'd like to explore that improved in the future.

I'll again be telling stories but I'm excited to see how Comical change the way I locale them.
